Safer Nights in Brigg |
||
|
Op Forager continues to spread reassurance, this time with a focus on Brigg, with the return of the high visibility drugs dog operation carried out by the Scunthorpe Neighbourhood Policing Team from today (Friday, 21 November 2025) to Wednesday, 28 January 2026. It’s business as usual for the Neighbourhood Beat Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who cover Brigg, but having a dedicated operation like Forager gives the teams an opportunity to work more closely with partners from North Lincolnshire Council and the North Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership (CSP) to target areas of most concern based on feedback gathered from local residents and businesses. As part of the joint Safer Nights initiative in collaboration with the local council and CSPs, the team will be tackling issues that we know are important within the community, especially as we head into the winter months and lead up to Christmas and New Year which naturally fall into one of our busiest times of year. This successful initiative recognises the impact the misuse of drugs can have in the area, and especially on the nighttime economy. The approach is a way of identifying people who may be supplying or carrying drugs; the proactive work acts as a deterrent to those involved in such crimes and brings reassurance to residents.
